Coil Feeding vs. Blank Feeding

Sonora Forming Technologies - Hermosillo, MX
Coe Press Equipment annouces recent shipment to Sonora Forming Technologies providing fully integrated coil feeding lines.

Coe Press Equipment, a leading manufacturer of coil-handling and material feeding equipment, recently did a head-to-head comparison of coil feeding and sheet feeding to see what, if any, efficiencies could be brought to bear on the overall stamping operation.

Coe Press Equipment Corporation, a leading producer of pressroom feed equipment, has recently installed and commissioned a variety of fully-integrated coil feeding lines at Sonora Forming Technologies, Hermosillo, MX. All lines were turnkey installed with presses from Aida Dayton Technologies to support the new stamping plant launch of this Magna-based company.

Three 42" wide Progressive Press Feed Lines are integrated with three AIDA NST 400 ton presses. These lines are capable of processing .177” thick x 20” wide HSLA with 90,000 PSI yield strengths. The feed lines include a cabinet-mounted servo roll feed with 5” diameter feed rolls, a 12’ dual-sided threading table, a heavy-duty power straightener with 3” diameter breaker rolls and 5” diameter pinch rolls, and a 40,000 pound capacity traveling coil reel with stationary lift. The lines are designed to attain linespeeds up to 80 FPM.

A single 72" wide High Speed Blanking Line is integrated with an AIDA PMX 600 ton high speed press. This line is capable of processing .110” thick x 72” wide HSLA with 90,000 PSI yield strengths. This feed line includes a cabinet-mounted servo roll feed with 6” diameter feed rolls, a 12’ dual-sided threading table, a heavy-duty power straightener with 4” diameter breaker rolls and 6” diameter pinch rolls, and a 50,000 pound capacity traveling coil reel with stationary lift. This line is designed to run linespeeds up to 240 FPM.
