Conventional coil fed line installed by Coe Press Equipment for three automotive stampers
A
few thicker gauge solutions built for automotive stampers...
Heavy
Gauge Feed Line
Oxford
Automotive
Material
Range: .187" x 72"
/ .250" x 48"
The Challenge: To design a conventional coil
line to process heavy gauge and high strength alloys (to 130,000 psi
yield strength).
The Solution: Produced top and bottom coil
hold-down and threading drives, integrated crop shear and scrap gondola,
and heavy-duty power straightener.
The Line: Servo roll feed
(8" dia. rolls x 72" wide), threading tables, power straightener
(5.625" dia. rolls x 8" pinch rolls), coil reel (60,000# capacity),
and traveling coil car.

Material
Range: .210" x 60"
/ .250" x 36" (max. material to .310")
The Challenge: Finding the appropriate slack
loop length to not reinduce coil set. Provide effective straightening
for light and heavy gauge materials.
The Solution: This line uses a 4' deep looping
pit designed for the best loop length, depth, passline height and design
of catenary sections.
The Line: Servo roll feed
(6" dia. rolls x 60" wide), threading table, power straightener
(3.5" dia. breaker rolls/5" dia. pinch rolls), coil reel (60,000#
capacity), and traveling coil car.
Line Length: 42'

Saving Feed Line
Toledo
Tool & Die
Material Range: .125" x 36" / .250"
x .12" (max. material to .310")
The Challenge: Design a feed line with condensed
line length and maximized processing flexibility.
The Solution: "Paddle loop" pay
off method from reel is developed by clockspringing the loop material
(via a guard) below the coil.
The Line: Servo roll feed (7" dia. rolls
x 36" wide), pull-thru straightener (5" dia. rolls), free-standing
peeler/threader/hold down station, motorized coil reel (30,000# capacity),
and traveling coil car.
Line Length: 22' (conventional footprint would
be 45')
Cradle/Straigthener/Feeder
Line
Stamco
Industries
Material Range: .250"
x 36"/.375" x 24" (max. material to .400")
The Challenge: Processing extremely heavy
gauge and high strength alloys (to 85,000 psi yield strength).
The Solution: A cradle-type payoff is combined
with an integrated feeder/straightener to unwind and feed the coil strip.
Both are driven by integrated, precision servo-controls. Meets additional
drive size challenges to control coil accel/decel mass and provides
enough horse-power to straighten and feed the material.
The Line: Combination C/F/S unit (10"
dia. nest rolls, 5" dia. straightener/6" dia. pinch rolls)
Line Length: Less than 20'
