Sesco Products Group oscillating shear dies can turn a conventional blanking press into an efficient trap shear line. These advanced tools utilize the latest in servo drive technology to optimize the production of trapezoid and parallel cut blanks. This process optimizes material utilization, reduces scrap, and simplifies the material requirements for subsequent stamping operations.
The oscillating shear die is provided with an integrated servo drive package. Variable angles can be selected for producing panels with +/-30 degree cuts. The shear pivots with each cycle of the press to produce alternating right and left hand panels. Various modes can be programmed to produce rectangle, trapezoid, parallel, or combination panels.
Most shear dies are designed with "bump die" configurations that requires no clamping of the upper die shoe to the press ram. This feature reduces changeover time and maximizes run speeds. A unique shock absorption system is provided to provide press speeds up to 80 SPM with the bump die design. Other features incorporated into Sesco Products Group oscillating shear dies include entrance ball transfer tables accommodate the pivoting shear head and variable speed exit conveyors to transfer the cut blank while preventing skewing.
