Basically, MAC became crucial for global U.S. military operations, efficiently moving troops and supplies. Later on, MAC expanded its fleet and capabilities. Notably, it played a significant role during the Vietnam War, demonstrating its vital importance in supporting overseas conflicts. Additionally, humanitarian missions became a part of its duties, showcasing its versatility. Eventually, in 1992, the Air Force inactivated MAC, but merged its mission and assets into the Air Mobility Command to streamline and enhance the efficiency of the U.S. Air Force's global airlift operations.
