“Establishing long-term customer relationships is a critical part of the COE business process,” said COE General Sales Manager Jim Ward. “We appreciate the partnership with customers such as Liberty Steel, who learn to trust and rely upon COE for equipment and service support.”
Both of the new Liberty Steel lines are specified to process heavy-gauge and high-strength steels with yield strengths up to 85,000 PSI. The Saltillo, Mexico line can process .210” thick x 54” wide material and handle coils up to 50,000#. The Warren, Ohio line is designed to process .250” thick x 42” wide and also handle coils up to 50,000#. Both blanking lines are configured with looping pits for optimum material storage and have maximum linespeed rating of 100 FPM.
The key component of each line is COE’s new CPPS-507 series heavy-duty power straightener. This straightener is provided with hi-flight backups that eliminate roll deflection and provide the material flatness results required for blanking operations. The straighteners have (7) straightener rolls with independently adjusted upper rolls via heavy-duty screw jacks. Straightening power is provided by 75 HP AC variable speed drives with full vector control.
