Typical stampings produced at the facility include external air conditioning and refrigerator components, which are produced out of a lighter gauge, pre-painted, non-marking, cosmetically sensitive material. By investing in its own CTL Line, Fanasa can better control its production planning and quality process as material handling of the stock is reduced by producing blanks on-site. In-sourcing of the company’s blanking requirements also eliminates the processing fee, helping Fanasa achieve good ROI on their investment.
Overall, the COE CTL Line is a “value-offering” developed using standard feeder, straightener and reel products with the addition of some optional special features. The standard coil handling and feeding equipment was joined with a COE shear and stacking solution to deliver a complete integrated line. The system is designed to provide Fanasa with flexibility in the types of materials that it will process. This was a turnkey project that included installation, start-up, training, and preventative maintenance.
The CTL Line is capable of processing pre-painted and stainless steel that is .074” thick x 48” wide with coil weights up to 10,000#. The Hydraulic Production Shear can attain 30 cuts/minute and features four-sided hardened shear blades and quick change handcrank blade gap adjustment. The Drop Stacker is designed with high-speed drop fingers to provide direct stacking of the blanks to avoid potential damage or marking of the blanks. The stacker also has a lift table capacity of 8,000# inclusive of conveyor, dunnage and stack. It can handle blank widths from 13” – 48” and lengths from 13” – 96”. Multiple lanes of powered chains are provided for effective pallet staging and removal of complete stacks from the stacking box.
COE Press Equipment has over 160 installations throughout Mexico.
